Daniel Kahn — product designer, crafting with AI, from idea to coded experience.

About

I’m a Staff Product Designer at Intuit, based in Mountain View, California. I work on the platform behind our live tax and bookkeeping services, software that more than 50,000 customer-facing team members are in all day, where small frictions compound into frustration for them and for the customers they’re helping.

I came to design from product. I spent years as a PM and PM lead, then ran product and design at a startup where I hired and built the team. That’s where the editing conviction comes from: I’ve watched good teams build the wrong thing beautifully, and I’d rather ship five things people need than fifty they don’t.

AI runs through my whole process now. I use it to explore more directions, and to build — quick prototypes to test an idea in a day, and real components in the production codebase. Staying with the work through delivery lets the details that make something feel right survive all the way to the people using it. I think in systems, because at scale nothing you make stays yours alone.
